Fox 5’s website was launched on May 15 2006. Myfoxdc.com caters to the television news station’s viewers in the DC, Maryland and Virginia area. If viewers miss a segment, they can visit the website where they can read articles, view videos, and see pictures. A majority of the content on the site is local news. The station’s web team adds content and makes updates to the website. Reporters and photographers also contribute content.

In recent years the news station has made some drastic changes. On January 30, 2009 the television news station became the third station in DC to launch news in high definition, according Fox 5’s website. The station also expanded its morning newscasts, which now air from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. They also stopped airing the 11 a.m. midday newscast.
